212 Dreams… Peace Is Possible!
Youth for Peace Initiative received 212 volunteer applications within less than 7 hours of launching the form on 18 August, leading to its temporary closure. Applications came from several countries—including Egypt, Ethiopia, Uganda, Saudi Arabia, Chad, the UAE, and Canada—and from various regions across Sudan, both relatively safe and conflict-affected, reflecting strong youth commitment to peace.

What Is Mental Health?
Mental health is more than just “feeling okay.” It’s a state of psychological well-being and inner peace that allows you to:

Without good mental health, even the simplest tasks can feel overwhelming, and our interactions with others may become strained.
What Is Physical Health?
Physical health refers to the body’s overall condition. It means being free from disease or injury and having the ability to:

Support long-term well-being
Good physical health helps you feel more energetic, focused, and resilient in the face of life’s challenges.

Why Both Are Essential
Can one alone guarantee a healthy, balanced life? The answer is no. Mental and physical health are deeply interconnected:

Poor physical health can affect your mood, energy, and stress levels. Untreated mental health issues can impact your body, affecting sleep, immunity, and overall vitality. Taking care of both is not just a personal choice—it’s a foundation for living fully.How to Start Prioritizing Your Health. Here are a few simple tips to nurture both:
Exercise regularly even short daily walks improve mood and body function. Eat balanced meals nourish your body to support your mind. Practice mindfulness or meditation reduce stress and enhance mental clarity. Sleep well, your mind and body recover and recharge during rest.
Connect socially positive relationships boost both mental and physical health. In our upcoming series, we’ll dive deeper into strategies and practices to strengthen both mental and physical health, helping you live well, cope better, and thrive. 🦋

Sudanese Healthcare Support Project in Egypt

International Day of Peace Project

The Sudanese Healthcare Support Project in Egypt is a community-based initiative implemented by Youth for Peace Initiative (YPI) to improve access to essential healthcare services for Sudanese refugees and migrants. Implemented in partnership with the Alex Cafory Grant Committee, Watan Association for Media and Technology, and NIDAA Organization, the project combines free medical services with psychosocial and nutritional health awareness activities. It also focuses on building the capacity of women to act as community health advocates, contributing to improved community well-being and sustainable health awareness.

The International Day of Peace Project is a multi-component peacebuilding initiative focusing on social peace, countering hate speech and racism, and amplifying youth voices in peacebuilding. The project was implemented in collaboration with the Democratic Pillar Forum, Al-Harissat Organization, Addif Foundation, and the Sudanese Artists Union in Egypt, combining capacity-building activities, structured dialogue spaces, policy-oriented discussions, and a public cultural closing event that highlighted art as a tool for peace.

30 Youth Skills for Peace Campaign

Act on Peace Project

The 30 Youth Skills for Peace Campaign is a youth-led initiative designed to connect employability skills, leadership development, and peacebuilding. The campaign was implemented by Youth for Peace Initiative without external partners and created inclusive spaces for dialogue, learning, and cultural engagement to strengthen youth participation in peace processes.

The Act on Peace Project is a youth-led peacebuilding initiative implemented by Youth for Peace Initiative, in collaboration with Adeela Organization and the Sudan Debates Center. The project aimed to strengthen meaningful youth participation in peacebuilding through capacity building, debate and dialogue spaces, knowledge production, and public engagement, enabling young people to analyze the root causes of conflict, articulate peace-oriented perspectives, and contribute constructively to peace processes.

Workshop on Nonviolence – University of Bahri

January, 2020              Khartoum, Sudan

A multi-day workshop on nonviolence organized by the Youth for Peace Initiative in collaboration with the Peace Studies Center, University of Bahri, and supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The workshop targeted university students from various political organizations and leadership backgrounds, aiming to enhance their understanding and practice of nonviolent approaches in personal, social, and community contexts.
Participants were introduced to key concepts of nonviolence, including alternatives to violence, dialogue and mediation, conflict resolution, and the role of students in promoting societal peace. Sessions combined interactive discussions, group activities, and practical exercises grounded in real-life scenarios, enabling participants to apply nonviolent tools and strategies in their communities and academic environments.

Workshop on Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution

February 2020        Tendalti, Sudan

 

A three-day peacebuilding and conflict resolution workshop implemented to strengthen the capacities of Resistance Committees in Tendalti, across neighborhoods and villages, in partnership with Youth for Peace Initiative, Resistance Committees of White Nile State – Tendalti Locality, and with coordination support from Yalla Nubader Organization. The workshop targeted resistance committees, as well as youth and women’s groups and traditional leadership structures, with the aim of enhancing local capacities for community peacebuilding, conflict management, and conflict transformation.
The workshop introduced participants to key concepts related to peace and conflict, including conflict and violence, negative and positive peace, peacemaking and peacekeeping, conflict transformation, conflict management, and peacebuilding. Sessions were delivered through interactive discussions, group work, and practical exercises grounded in real-life contexts, supporting the application of peacebuilding tools at the community level.

International Day of Peace Celebration

September 2025        Cairo, Egypt

 An event organized in partnership with Bana Association for Peace and Development, designed to celebrate peace and promote social cohesion among displaced communities.
The celebration featured a photography exhibition showcasing peaceful coexistence, accompanied by a dialogue session that encouraged participants to discuss challenges and solutions for community integration.

Cultural programs, including performances and interactive activities, were conducted to highlight art as a tool for peace, foster intercultural understanding, and engage youth in practical peacebuilding initiatives.

African Child Day Celebration

June, 2025        Cairo, Egypt

Implemented in collaboration with Haq Center for Legal and Psychological Support for Refugees and other partners, this event focused on refugee children’s rights and psychosocial support.
Activities included interactive workshops on child protection, art therapy sessions, and group discussions on challenges faced by refugee children.

The event aimed to strengthen resilience, provide coping tools, and raise awareness among communities about the rights and needs of children affected by displacement.

Workshop on NGO Management Basics

November, 2024        Cairo, Egypt

A two-day internal capacity-building workshop conducted by Youth for Peace Initiative to strengthen organizational management and project implementation skills of staff and volunteers of Egypt Office.
Sessions included strategic planning, project design, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), reporting, and team management.

Practical exercises, case studies, and interactive simulations were conducted to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making.
Intercultural Communication, was included to improve communication with diverse groups and conflict-sensitive engagement in peace projects.

Panel Discussion on The Role of Youth in Peacebuilding

October, 2024        Cairo, Egypt

 

Organized with the Haq Cultural Salon, this panel discussion focused on youth contributions to peacebuilding, civic engagement, and sustaining peaceful coexistence.

The panel included group discussions, and experience based scenarios to enhance participants’ understanding of conflict dynamics and peacebuilding strategies.

Topics included leadership roles of youth, community mobilization, dialogue facilitation, and promoting tolerance.

Participants were encouraged to develop actionable strategies for youth-led peace initiatives in Sudanese communities.

Open Health Day

May, 2024        Cairo, Egypt

An Open Health Day delivered in partnership with Marsal Foundation and Tadamun Foundation, providing comprehensive medical services, examinations, and medications to Sudanese communities in Egypt as part of emergency healthcare support.
The activity included interactive awareness sessions on preventive health, nutrition, and hygiene, as well as group discussions addressing common health challenges faced by refugees.

Participants were guided on follow-up procedures and local support mechanisms, with structured group consultations to ensure knowledge transfer and community engagement.

Open Health Day

February, 2024        Cairo, Egypt

A full-day Open Health Day implemented in collaboration with Afro-Asian Dreams Association to support Sudanese communities in Cairo. The activity provided free medical consultations across multiple specialties, including general medicine, pediatrics, and nutrition.
The Open health day also included psychological and nutritional awareness sessions, focusing on mental well-being, coping with displacement-related stress, and healthy dietary habits.

Cultural activities and interactive sessions were organized to promote community cohesion and overall well-being. Participants engaged in discussions, practical demonstrations, and received guidance on accessing local health services.

Workshop on Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution Skills

A three-day online training organized by the Youth for Peace Initiative in partnership with Global Peace Chain, designed to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills in peacebuilding and conflict resolution. The workshop targeted youth and community leaders, providing them with practical tools to manage and transform conflicts in personal, social, and community settings.
Sessions covered core concepts including conflict analysis, alternatives to violence, dialogue and mediation, and strategies for fostering peaceful interactions.

The workshop was delivered through interactive discussions, group exercises, and scenario-based activities, enabling participants to apply peacebuilding techniques effectively in real-life contexts.
